1970  ~  The Tribute of Life  ~  2020

Mr. Marcus Tyrell Jones, shouted for joy on Monday, June 15, 2020, when he suddenly left his earthly home to go be with the Lord in his heavenly home.

A public viewing will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Bishop Lonnie E. Holloway Memorial Chapel at the funeral home.

Marcus was born on July 18, 1990 to Anthony Taylor and Melodee Jones in Pitt County.  He was raised in Goldsboro, NC where he attended the Wayne County School System. He attended special programs at Wayne Community College.

Marcus never met a stranger and always had a heart to help people, no matter what it cost him.  He had such a heart of gold. When he smiled, it would light up a room.  A smile that said, everything was going to be OK.

Marcus had a lot of challenges in his life, but did not allow those challenges to get him down or stop him in life. He would always say, "oh it's ok", and then just start grinning and smiling. Marcus had a way of calling you to remind you that his birthday was coming up so you wouldn’t forget his gift. Those phone calls will be deeply missed.   To know Marcus, was to love Marcus.

Marcus will always be loved and missed by his Grandmother, Jacquelyn Coley of the home;  Mother, Melodee Jones (special friend-Kevin Hines) of Goldsboro, NC; Father and Stepmother, Anthony and Jamie Taylor of Goldsboro, NC; Siblings, Dominique Caldwell, Shake Taymullah, Natifa Taymullah, Makailah Taylor, Jamison Taylor, Micah Taylor, Christopher Brinson, Darian Brinson, all of Goldsboro, NC, and Antonio Smith of Jacksonville, NC; Aunts, Tammy Holloman of Charlotte, NC, Tuesday Drew of Kinston, NC, Vanessa Drew and Ann Drew of Ayden, NC, and a Special Great Aunt, Jenny Coley of Charlotte, NC; Uncle, Jesse Raye Drew of Ayden, NC; and a host of great aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
