Gloria B. Bridges, better known as “Nette”, entered into this world on August 18, 1963 in Goldsboro, NC to The Late William L. “Pee Wee” Burden, Sr. and Mother Gloria Taylor Burden.

Nette received her education from the Wayne County Public Schools and graduated from Eastern Wayne High School-Class of 1981.  She furthered her studies and obtained her Degree of Practical Nursing from Lenoir Community College.

Nette began driving school buses for Wayne County at the age of 16.  After obtaining her LPN, she worked for Dorothy Dix Hospital in Raleigh, NC. She later worked at Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro, NC until retirement due to health issues.

Nette was a lifelong member of Holly Hill Church of Christ and she loved the Lord with all her heart.  Even when she was not feeling her best she was the loudest one in the church house.  She was a true believer in not letting a rock cry out for her.

Nette held many positions in the church, including usher and secretary to the pastor.  She was chairman of the Youth Department and an active member of the trustee board until her health declined.

She was preceded in death by her father, Trustee William L. Burden, Sr., her maternal grandparents, Paul and Martha Holloway Taylor; her paternal grandparents, Wilbert and Daisy Burden; her sister, Cathy Denise Burden, and her brother-in-love, Claude A. Jackson.

Nette leaves to cherish her precious memories; mother, Gloria T. Burden, of the home; son, Craig G. Bridges, II (Stormi); daughter, ShaLonda (JaJuan) Taylor, Sr.; one granddaughter, Melanie N. Bridges; three grandsons, Jordan M. Bridges, JaJuan V. Taylor, Jr., and Yasir N. James; sister, Shelbra Jackson (The Late Claude Jackson); brothers, Jerald (Nicole) Council, Sr. and William (Gloria) Burden, Jr.; nephews, Jerald Council, Jr., Nicholas Council, and Nathaniel Council; nieces, Kori Jackson, Keanna Jackson, and Taylor Jackson; uncle, Roland Taylor; aunts, Shirley (Donald) Blue and Doris (Eugene) Bell; special daughter, Cassandra (Youneat) James; goddaughters, Veronica Smith and Ommunique Smith; special friends, Constance Foye, Classie Dawson, and Tiffany Williams; her adopted grandson, Sincere Williams; Holly Hill Youth Choir; and many other family members and friends.

Please keep the Taylor, Bridges, and Burden families in your prayers. We pray that God will continue to comfort them with His Love and Peace. "For we know that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal" and, that "the joy of the Lord is our strength". 🙏🌹
