The Life and Legacy

of

Ronnie Bernard Lane

 

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”.  II Timothy 4:7

 

Mr. Ronnie B. Lane, 56, of Cheraw, SC, departed this life on Saturday, May 28, 2022.  He was born on December 26, 1965 to Oscar Lane and Beverly Edgerworth.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Angie Lane Sinkler.

Ronnie was educated in the Chesterfield County Public Schools of Cheraw, SC.  Upon graduation, he enlisted and served in the United States Army Reserve.  After serving in the military, he worked for the SC Dept of Correction and later transferred to the NC Dept of Correction as a Correction Officer.  He then joined the Coca-Cola Consolidated Company and worked in many capacities for over 18 years. 

Ronnie was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend.  Under the leadership of Bishop M.S. Nesbitt in Cheraw, as a young teenager, he was taught about who God is and about God’s Word. He truly loved God and recently rededicated his life to his Lord and Savior.

Ronnie loved his family and extended families very much.  He also loved the Dallas Cowboys and Duke Basketball.  He truly had a servants heart and enjoyed helping others.  He will be missed by the lives of so many family members and friends that he made such a tremendous impact upon.

 

Ronnie leaves to cherish his precious memories; his loving wife of 29 years, Vanessa Holloway Lane of the home; children, Michael Byrd of Cheraw, SC, Brian Burns of Charlotte, NC, Nicole “Nikki” Holloway of Fayetteville, NC, LaRon Lane of Atlanta, GA, and Courtney Cole, who he raised as his son; his father, Oscar Lane Sr., Orlando, FL; mother, Beverly Edgerworth, Cheraw, SC; three brothers, Oscar (Trisha) Lane Jr., Jerome (Shivonne) Lane, and Jose (Shonda) Lane, all of Orlando, FL; one sister, Jannetta (Barry) Peterkin, Wallace, SC; two aunts; seven sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; his life-long best friend, Charles Dogans; and a host of nieces, nephews, and an army of family and friends that loved him and will miss him very much.
