Mrs. Angela Lucarelli Gelina, of Pikeville, NC, was called Home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.  Angela was born on August 7, 1945 to Lawrence Lucarelli and Assunta Marie Fracassa in Mechanicville, NY.

She loved being outside in the sunshine, planting flowers, and tending to her garden.  She also enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, knitting, and she absolutely loved to be surrounded by her family. Her face would light up every time she told her grandchildren the story of Sambo.  She would tell that story over and over as many times as they wanted.  She was the light of our lives and will be deeply missed.

Angela leaves behind to cherish her loving memories; her loving husband of 58 years, John Sr.; two daughters, Karen Gelina and Linda (Morgan) VonHaugg; one son, John Jr. (Crystal) Gelina; several grandchildren whom she adored, Morgan (Johnsie) VonHaugg, Cassandra (Jason) Harman, Sarah (Nicholas) Barefoot, Dylan Gelina, Hannah and Jacob Gelina; two great grandchildren, Elleanor and Emelia Barefoot; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, Angela requested donations to St Jude’s Research Hospital.

The State of NC has discontinued the mandate for wearing a mask and social distancing.  However, because vaccinations are still ongoing, we ask that you be mindful of the family and wear a mask and social distance while inside of the facility.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation in this matter.
