Mr. Marvin Williams, 81, of Brooklyn, NY, formerly of Goldsboro, NC, passed peacefully on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Calvary Hospital, Brooklyn, NY. 


Marvin was born on December 25, 1939 in Wayne County, to the late Moses Williams, Sr. and Ruth Coley Williams.  Marvin was raised and educated in Goldsboro, NC.  He made New York his home as a young man and worked for many years at a catering company in Manhattan, NY before his health began to decline. 


Marvin possessed a gentle spirit and was a man of wisdom.  He liked to joke and laugh, especially with his co-workers who cared and looked out for him over the years.  Marvin was a very generous and free-hearted person by nature who was always willing to give more than he received.  


Marvin was preceded in death by his brothers, Moses Williams, Jr. and Lendell Williams, Sr. He is survived by nephews; Lendell (Brenda) Williams, Jr. of Monroe, NC and Gregory Lamont Williams of Houston, TX; niece Tangela Williams of Charlotte, NC; sister-in-law Margaret Williams of Goldsboro, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.


A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 – 1:00 pm at The Coley Family Cemetery, 863 Lancaster Rd., Pikeville, NC. 


Please keep the Williams family as they prepare for the celebration of life service for their beloved Mr. Williams.
