1940 ~  The Tribute of Life  ~  2018

Mrs. Helen Delois “Mema” Broadie Ransom , 78, of Goldsboro, NC, past in the early morning hours of Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Brain Center Health & Rehabilitation in Goldsboro, NC.

 

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 - 12:00 noon at Word of Truth Christian Fellowship, 1401 N. Carolina St., Goldsboro, NC.  Mrs. Ransom will lie in state from 11:30 a.m. until the start of the service.  Pastor Janet Ward, Officiating/Eulogist.  Mr. Robby Millard, Presider.

 

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at The Bishop Lonnie E. Holloway Sr. Memorial Chapel at the funeral home.  Interment:  Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro, NC.

Mrs. Helen was born on July 26, 1940 to the late Ivory Joseph and Lucinda Williams Broadie.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Alice; four brothers, Ivory “Jay”, Melvin, Louis Howard, and Jackie Broadie; one nephew, Louis Howard Jr.

Mrs. Helen loved children and enjoyed caring for them. She opened her daycare home, Miss Apryl’s Family Daycare, in 1984. She cared for many children and touched their lives before her retirement in June, 2018.

Ms. Helen leaves to cherish loving memories; her husband, Maryland Ransom of the home; her daughter Apryl Ransom of Goldsboro, NC; three grandchildren, Anajia, Sammy, and Kiara; two brothers, Vernon (Hilda) Broadie of Goldsboro, NC and Charles (Diana) Broadie of Greensboro, NC; one sister, Teresa Lee of Goldsboro, NC; a niece whom she adopted as her own, Linda (Robert) Barnes of Goldsboro, NC; her best friend, Addy Moore; and many nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
