Mr. Booker T. McLean

Mr. Booker Talton McLean, 85, of Goldsboro, NC, departed this earthly life on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Willow Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Goldsboro, NC.

Booker T. was the third child born to the late Howard, Sr. and Esther McLean, on March 1, 1938 in Wayne County, NC.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia.   

Booker T. was reared in Goldsboro and graduated from the historic Dillard High School in the Class of 1957.  He worked at Cherry Hospital as a Healthcare Technician for a number of years until he was able to retire. 

Booker T. gave his life to Jesus Christ and served the church diligently until his health began to fail.  He was truly a dedicated and dependable member who was loved by everyone and will be missed greatly.  His community service included being a member of the Epicurean Civic Club for many years.

Booker T. was an avid sports fan and his all-time favorite NFL team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a quiet soul but when he spoke, everyone would stop to listen to what he had to say.  He absolutely loved his family and loved spending time with them.   

Booker T. leaves to cherish his precious memories: his sister, Robena McLean Payton and brother, Howard R. McLean, Jr., both of Goldsboro, NC; step-son, Michael Toler, Sr. of Knoxville, TN; grandson, Michael, Jr. of Durham, NC; and other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
