Mr. Lawrence Dexter Branch

Mr. Lawrence Dexter Branch, 64, of Mt. Olive, NC, departed this life on Monday, February 13, 2023 at his home. 

Dexter, who he was lovingly called, was born October 2, 1958 in Wayne County, NC to the late Lawrence Jefferson and Mary Emma McGowan Branch.  He completed this journey Monday, February 13, 2023 at his home.

Dexter was educated in the Duplin County School system, graduating with the Class of 1975.  He was a fun-loving person who relished the outdoors.  He enjoyed hunting, riding go karts, and watching auto racing (long live Jeff Gordon #24). He worked on the farm and in the log woods.  He enjoyed driving the loader and log skidder.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Delaney Dewyon (Wine/2017), Joseph Ray (Joe/2019) and Antonio Donnell (Tony/2021); and sisters-in-law, Mattie Jones Branch and Bonnie McCormick Branch.

Left to cherish his memories are:  his siblings, Curtis Glenn Branch of the home, Jefferson Leanell Branch (Georgia) of Philadelphia, PA, and Mary Branch Hines (Robert) of Goldsboro, NC; a sister-in-law, Tracey Manley Branch of California; an adopted sister, Kathryn Wallace Miller of the Scott’s Store Community in Mount Olive, NC; his uncle, Mr. O’Neal Branch, Sr. of the Scott’s Store Community in Mount Olive, NC; his great aunt, Mrs. Betty M. Best of Kenansville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
